Whether you're a first-time shooter preparing for a Firearms Certificate (FAC) or Shotgun Certificate (SGC) application, a hunter looking to formalise your skills, or an existing licence holder wanting to build a stronger technical foundation, our Firearms Fundamentals courses provide structured, expert-led instruction in a safe and supportive environment.
Covering safe handling and secure storage in line with Home Office guidelines, UK firearms legislation and legal responsibilities under the Firearms Act 1968, mechanical operation and maintenance, target rifle and hunting rifle fundamentals, and range safety and etiquette, the curriculum is designed to build genuine competence and confidence from the ground up.
Practical shooting assessments are integrated throughout, giving students measurable benchmarks and documented evidence of their capability — material that Chief Constables and licensing departments recognise when assessing an applicant's suitability and competence.
Students completing the course receive a recognised certificate of competency, supporting both FAC and SGC applications by demonstrating to the licensing authority that the applicant has met an independently assessed standard of safe handling and practical ability.
Ideal for new shooters taking their first steps into the sport or field, and for existing certificate holders seeking formal validation of their skills.
The drone threat to maritime and remote terrestrial operations is real, evolving, and increasingly difficult to counter through conventional means. Electronic jamming remains restricted across most flagged-vessel environments, and the logistics chain required to field dedicated C-UAS systems is rarely available at remote operating locations or on short-notice deployments.
FOXTOR's Counter-UAV Shotgun Course is purpose-built for Ship Security Officers, Armed Maritime Security Teams, and overseas PSC personnel who need a proven, low-footprint kinetic solution — executable with equipment already on the manifest, without specialist infrastructure or standing C-UAS support.
What the Course Covers
Threat Identification & Intent Assessment — recognising and classifying UAV threats at sea and in remote terrestrial environments, distinguishing hostile from incidental activity
Engagement Geometry — engaging fast-moving aerial targets from moving, pitching, or constrained platforms under operationally realistic conditions
Ammunition Selection — optimising load selection for maritime conditions, environmental constraints, and varying target profiles
Rules of Engagement & Legal Considerations — ROE decision-making under ambiguity, use-of-force frameworks, and building a legally defensible engagement record
Multi-Drone Scenario Response — coordinated team response to simultaneous or sequenced UAV threats in degraded and high-pressure environments
The Outcome
Graduates leave with a repeatable, legally defensible skill set that integrates directly into existing security team SOPs — stress-tested through realistic scenario training, and ready to deploy without specialist equipment or support infrastructure.
No dedicated kit required. No support chain assumed. Immediate operational utility.
